Daniel:
Verse by Verse

Part 15

Rexella: So the bottom line is actually we had better be ready for whatever might happen. The Lord could come at any moment.

Dr. Van Impe: Oh and when we get in to chapter 12 there's some glorious things there. We'll tell the folks how to get ready.

Rexella: Giving chapter 12 a title is quite dynamic. Unsealing of God's endtime mystery. Is that correct Jack?

Dr. Van Impe: That's right.

Rexella: That's pretty exciting isn't it?

Dr. Van Impe: This is where it's mentioned.

Rexella: All right. Starting with verse 1, and at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book. Now Jack who are the people delivered and they are written in the book?

Dr. Van Impe: Well he is talking about Daniel's people, the Jews, and Michael is the protector of the nation of Israel and he watches over the Jewish people and I guess he's had a full time job down throughout history but future suffering is going to get very, very bad because during the tribulation hour the Bible tells us that there will never have been anything like this period in world history. So we think what we've had is bad, think of what's coming. Alas for that day is great so that none is like it, Jeremiah 30, verse 7.

30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Jesus said for then shall be great tribulation such as never was since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be, Matthew 24:21,
24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
but then he tells how Michael the protector is there and we see him battling Satan in the heavenlies in Revelation 12, verses 7 and 8
12:7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
12:8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
and he is standing for the people of Israel here in verse 1. Why? So that they might be saved. Listen to the rest of Jeremiah 30, verse 7.
30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Alas for that day is great so that none is like it, it is the time of Jacob's trouble. Jacob is Israel, II Kings 17:34,
17:34 Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
repetition is a good teacher. The rest of the verse, but he shall be saved out of it. Michael is really doing his job in a tremendous way. And Daniel 12:1
12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
says at that time there shall be a time of trouble such as never was and at that time thy people, the Jews, shall be delivered because Michael is standing for them. So this is during the tribulation hour and Russia of course marches in the middle of the tribulation period after the peace contract is broken. 42 months of the contract, it's been wonderful and then everything is smashed to smithereens at midpoint, Daniel 9:27,
9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
and Russia marches at a time when Israel has been at peace because of the peace contract for they go up against the land of unwalled villages against them that are at rest, at peace, Ezekiel 38:11,
38:11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
and that's the beginning of time of persecution for the Jews and then Satan is cast out of heaven and he tries to obliterate the Jewish people from off the face of the earth, Revelation 12:13
12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
and that's what verse 1 is all about and that's why Michael is there to stand for his people.

Rexella: Jack, God is always on the side of his people, correct? He's going to defend them.

Dr. Van Impe: Right, definitely. And that's why Satan so hates the Jews because they are his chosen people. Read Deuteronomy 7:6.

7:6 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Rexella: Verses 2 and 3. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. I love that verse. All right now, Jack, in verse 2 it talks about a group of people that's raised from the dead. What group of people is this?

Dr. Van Impe: If you are a Jewish person I want you to know that your Old Testament teaches that there will be a resurrection and that there is life beyond the grave because a lot of Jewish people don't know that Daniel 12:2 is in their Bible. If you are a gentile who loves Jewish people, and you should, show them this text. What's the scenario here? First of all we have the resurrection of the righteous for the rapture typified in John 5, verses 28 and 29.

5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
The Holy Spirit through John says marvel not at this. For the hour is coming in which all that are in the grave shall hear his voice and shall come forth. They that have done good unto the resurrection of life, that's the rapture. Then they which have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation. And that's when they are raised in Revelation 20, verses 11 to 15,
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
to stand before Jesus Christ at the great white throne judgment. When these folks are resurrected, for the resurrection of the just, the first half of that verse, takes place when Jesus Christ returns. Remember Revelation 4:1,
4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
the voice is heard crying out, come up hither. We're gone. And what transpires in that situation is I Thessalonians 4, verse 16 and 17.
4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. The dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain, we've lived to this hour, shall be caught up together with them, with the dead, in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. All right. Then we find the horrible tribulation takes place because chapter 4 precedes the tribulation. The book of Revelation is written chronologically. So we are gone in chapter 4 and then chapters 6 to 18 describe this 7 year period. Daniel's 70th week. And the word of God teaches us that during that time Jews and gentiles will be killed for refusing to receive the mark of the beast, Revelation 13, verse 15 and Revelation 20, verse 4
13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

also adds, I saw the souls of them that were beheaded, now when you are beheaded you're dead, for the witness of Jesus and for the word of God because they would not receive the mark of the beast. But watch it. The next verse, they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. All right. This is the time of the resurrection for those who went through the tribulation hour, got saved through the 144,000 preachers of Revelation 7, verses 4 to 8
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
and for millions of people, both Jews and gentiles who have found Christ, for these are they which have come out of the great tribulation and have washed their robes and have made them white in the blood of the lamb, so not everyone's going to be killed, but a great number of them are. Christ comes back and judges the nations, Matthew 25, verse 31 to 46
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
and those who survive, go into the millennium with their natural bodies, the saints return with Jesus Christ, for the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, Jude 14,
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
and that's when he returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords in Revelation 19:16
19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
because, back up to verse 14, the armies in heaven followed him, and then because the holy city, for that thousand years, has the 12 foundations and they are dedicated to the Jewish people. We see in this city 12 and 12 of various things for the Jews and the Christians. They have to be there. So how do these Jewish people get there? Right here in verses 2 and 3. They are raised. Many of them be saints, the Jewish saints, shall be raised. Some to everlasting life, some to everlasting shame. That comes a little later for them. Just like the rest of the world. And these Jews who lived a life like Daniel get rewards just like the church was rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ in II Corinthians 5:10, Romans 14:10,
5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

when he gave the various crowns such as the one given to those who are looking for the coming of Jesus, II Timothy 4:7 and 8.
4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Now they're rewarded. But whether it's the Jews or the gentile, there are three groups on this earth you know, by label, but only two compose the third one, the Jews the gentile and the church of God, I Corinthians 10:32,
10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
and the Jews and gentile both saved, constitute, the third group, the church of God and they are all rewarded in one way or another for they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. So whether we are Jews or gentile Christians there are rewards for us. Now all these saints are here at that time for one reason only. They lived and reigned with Christ 1,000 years. Now if you don't believe it is composed of Jews and gentiles, some of you anti-semites, and you call yourselves Christians, then you better again read Revelation chapters 21 and 22 for that holy city and everything about it is built around the two groups, Jews and gentiles.

Rexella: Ok Jack, verse 3 then, and they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever, refers to any soul winner. I mean whether you are gentile or Jewish or whatever, you are receiving a reward.

Dr. Van Impe: Right. They will get their rewards at that point, the resurrection, when those who were in heaven at the rapture, Revelation 4:1

4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
and have already been rewarded for we get our rewards at the resurrection of the just, Luke 14:14
14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
at the rapture. We come back with our rewards and then these Jewish brethren are raised to receive their's, but whatever one group gets another will get for if we suffer we shall reign with him, that's for all of us again, so here we are with our crowns and rewards and one happy family.

Rexella: Great.

Dr. Van Impe: Then all anti-semitism will cease. And the ones that so hate the Jews won't even be there so you better get the right kind of Christianity. Ha ha.

Rexella: That's for sure. Verse 4. But thou, o Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book even to the time of the end and many shall run to and fro and knowledge shall be increased. Now was God telling Daniel that he book would be sealed until right at the end Jack?

Dr. Van Impe: That's exactly what it means. The book Daniel would not be understandable until the time of the end and the reason for that being that many of the prophecies having to do with the revived Roman Empire of Daniel chapter 2 in the form of this image and the four beasts of Daniel chapter 7 were not explainable until our time and that's why beginning somewhere around 1890 with Dr. Gabeline, they started to mention that there would be a revived Roman Empire. So within the last 100 years light was breaKing through but that there would be a great nation that would march against Israel, Ezekiel 38 and 39, and how this enemy would come from the north against Israel, right in this book chapter 11 verse 40

11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
and how many of the Kings of the east, the oriental rulers would join Russia and, for a blitzkrieg like the world had never known was never revealed, never understood until some of these things started to come into existence. Now we understand how it all works. Plus in that fourth verse it says this: knowledge shall be increased. Now we've always used that to say that in the last times science will invent great things and that people will be running to and fro because of scientific inventions but what it really means in context is though the dual application is fine, in the last day when the book of prophecy becomes unsealed and men really begin to understand it, knowledge about prophecy will be increased. You've never seen such a flood of books as the last 25 years and people will run to and fro everywhere they can to hear the word of prophecy that the King is coming. First as the saviour to call his church away and then as the King to rule and reign. It's here.

Rexella: Verse 5, then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. The one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, how long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times and a half. And when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. Now there are two more messengers here Jack. Who are these messengers?

Dr. Van Impe: They are angels of God.

Rexella: All right.

Dr. Van Impe: The Lord just has good angels, multitudes of them, and they bring messages to comfort the hearts of God's people.

Rexella: All right. Now this sounds just a little bit strange to me, time, times and a half. What does this mean?

Dr. Van Impe: Well he's asking what's going to happen? What's going to be the end of all these things? So he answers that time, times and a half time will bring all these things to a conclusion. What things? This terrible battle that is going on in the 11th chapter when the King of the south at the time of the end invades Israel with an Arab federation and the King of the north moves into the area and that's Russia and then these many Kings from the orient, headed up undoubtedly by China, because the troop numbers are incomprehensible when one studies Revelation 9:16,

9:16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
200 thousand thousand, 200 million and so he says this is all going to happen in Israel but when? He says all right, time, times and a half time. Remember that Russia begins the move in the middle of the tribulation hour after the 7 year peace contract is broken right at the half way mark after the first 42 months in Daniel 9:27.
9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
All right. Time, one year, times, two more years, half time, half a year. One year, two years, a half year total three and a half years. And that's the final part once all the trouble begins and that's called 42 months in Revelation 13:5,
15:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
translated to 1260 days, Revelation 11:3 and Revelation 12:6
11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

and those battles will go on right to the moment when the beast and his armies meet Jesus Christ coming on that white horse in that 19th chapter of Revelation. That's how long it will be. And then when Christ comes it is over and then they will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks, Isaiah 2:4, but it's going to take the prince of peace, that's the only real prince that matters and that's his name in Isaiah 9:6.
9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Rexella: Then he goes on to say, what is the meaning of this Jack, that he is going to scatter the power of the holy people?

Dr. Van Impe: Well of course because of all this persecution that we have already mentioned and we can requote these verses, not necessary, Jeremiah 30, verse 7; Daniel 12:1; Matthew 24:22; Revelation 12:13

30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

that because all these things are happening right there in the holy land the people are going to flee and be scattered and many of them will flee to the mountains according to Matthew 24. Let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains and some believe that multitudes will flee to petra for safety, but they are scattered.

Rexella: All right. Verse 8. And I heard, but I understood not. Then said I, oh my Lord what shall be the end of these things? Now they explained it to Daniel, but apparently he didn't understand it.

Dr. Van Impe: Well he understood what was coming and he understood now about the 70 weeks and the 70th week, the final 7 years, but what he is asking is what happens after the 7 years.

Rexella: That's the end. He didn't understand the end.

Dr. Van Impe: At the end of the 7 years.

Rexella: Oh I see.

Dr. Van Impe: Right. And he knew that the stone cut out without hands, Christ, would smash the feet of the image in Daniel 2:45

2:45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
and that would be the end of all these world powers including the revived Roman Empire and he knew that Daniel 7:22
7:22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
said that the saints would inherit the Kingdom and he knew that that Kingdom was going to be for a thousand years but he wanted to know now what would go on during the thousand years and we couldn't know much of that until we got to the book of Revelation because chapters 21 and 22 picture this glorious holy city and so that's what he was questioning.

Rexella: He just didn't understand the end of it all.

Dr. Van Impe: No. No.

Rexella: Verse 9. And he said, go thy way Daniel for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. So apparently believers would understand the things that were coming but unbelievers would not. Is that correct?

Dr. Van Impe: Yes, that's right Rexella because I Corinthians 2:14

1:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
says the natural man. That's the one who's unsaved, understands not the things of the spirit of God. They are foolishness unto him. Neither can he know them, understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. They just don't know. But those, God's people, will know especially those who've been through the mill. Because it talks here about their purging and how they become white and that is not talking about salvation, though your sins be as scarlet they shall be white as snow, Isaiah 1:18,
1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
they already have that. But it just means they are purified through these trials. Sometimes illness, sickness and trials, tribulations really make us. That's why Paul said, tribulation works patience in us. It makes something out of us. And so these who have been through it probably have been very close to the Lord and they have been loving the word and reading it and praying and so they understand because the spirit of God who wrote this word has been revealing all these things to them. But the others, they just harden themselves in their wickedness and go on from day to day not understanding anything.

Rexella: I知 really going to need your help on this. Verse 11, listen to this. And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be 1290 days. Now that is 1290 days and according to my calculations that's about 30 days too many. Why Jack?

Dr. Van Impe: Right. We've been talking about 1260 days being the 3 1/2 year period, being the time, times and half a time. What does it mean? Everything goes according to schedule, but now the Lord has returned but people have to get their hearts in tune so an announcement is made that soon the Millennial Kingdom will be established and a time of consecration is necessary. And it's strange when one studies the story in II chronicles 30, verses 2 to 4 when King Hezekiah said we can't have passover because we must consecrate our priests because they are not ready for this holy service and this time of consecration took 30 days. So it's a beautiful picture of why there is an additional 30-day period there to get ready for the greatest event in history, to rule and reign with Jesus Christ.

Rexella: Beautiful, beautiful, but here's verse 12, listen to this. I致e got question for him here. Blessed is he that waiteth and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. 45 extra days there Jack.

Dr. Van Impe: Ok. The 30 days were for the consecration of the priests but now remember when Christ comes back he judges the nations and the judgment has to do whether or not they're qualified to enter the glorious Kingdom of Jesus Christ for a thousand years. So in Matthew 25 verses 31 to 46

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
this judgment is going on and that won't just take a day or two, it will take the additional 45 days after the priests have been consecrated for the service of God. So we have the consecration going on for 30 days and then when these priests are ready God says we will deal with the people and we'll see who is qualified to enter the Kingdom and who isn't. So we've got a total of 75 days for all of these things above the 1260 when the tribulation period ends. There is no contradiction. The tribulation would only last 2520 days the last 3 1/2 years would be 1260 days and then it ends. But then they have to make some preparations. It's just like people think that when the Lord Jesus comes back, presto! Whipto!, It's a perfect world. Hey there's going to be a lot of damage done through all of the wars and they're going to have to, like they did in World War II, do some renovating and rebuilding and that will take time. It may take the first 20 or 30 years of the millennium just to get things in order again but first this 45 day period there along with the 30-day period in the preceding verse is to prepare the priests and the people for the glorious rule of Christ.

Rexella: And now for the last verse of the book of Daniel, but go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. Now, till the end be. The end of what?

Dr. Van Impe: Ok. There are two terms there talking about the end. The first one has to do with Daniel's life. You know he's around 90 years of age now. He says go Daniel till the end of thy days be. You'll soon be leaving this world. But then he says but there's a time coming after you rest in that grave that you are going to stand up and that is verse 2 when these Jewish Old Testament saints are raised so that they along with the saints who have returned from heaven Jude 14, Revelation 19:14;

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

and the saints who lived through the tribulation and after the judgment that took these extra 45 days has transpired and the saints are selected out of it they in their natural bodies along with the resurrected saints who went first at the rapture in Revelation 4:1,
4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
who've returned, along with these Jewish Old Testament saints who are now raised will all be there first of all those from the judgment in their real bodies, human bodies, and then the church and the Old Testament Jewish saints in their new glorified bodies and all of them shall rule and reign with Jesus Christ for a thousand years and the thing is he says you shall stand in your lot Daniel. You're going to be there. If we suffer with him we shall also reign with him, II Timothy 2:12.
2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Daniel you've been through it. And oh the rewards you are going to have. And I believe he will be one of the rulers. You know he served under 6 Kings, but the greatest moment, oh oh, in history is when he serves under the King of Kings, the Lord Jesus Christ for 1000 years and you and I can share in that blessing as well. First of all we have to be saved. Be prepared. And then Christians who aren't living the life have to get right with the Lord. You know Rexella I want to pray with people right now. Are you going to be there? Are you going to be caught up and return with Christ to rule and reign? He's coming soon. All these are end-time signs. The book has been opened because it's the end time. God has removed the seals and now we know what's going to happen and soon, but you need to be ready. You say how? First you have to admit your sin. I don't think that's difficult for any of us. All have sinned, Romans 3:23.
3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
The scripture hath concluded all under sin, Galatians 3:22.
3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
Everyone of us. There is none righteous, no not one, Romans 3:10.
3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
If you stay in that condition you'll be lost. For the wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23
6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
That's physical, for it is appointed unto men once to die, Hebrews 9:27,
9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
you can't escape that unless we are alive for the rapture and saved, but there is also the second death which is the Lake of Fire, Revelation 20:15.
20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Whew. But the good news is that Christ died for our sin, I Corinthians 15:3.
15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
Every last one of them. I don't care what you've done. It may seem ugly in your eyes, but sin should appear that way. But the Bible says, please study it, in Romans chapter 5, verses 6 to 8,
5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
that Christ died for the ungodly. He died for the ungodly. The ungodly. He didn't die for saints. He died for sinners and he shed his blood for you and if you will come to the cross and say I believe in that shed blood to wash away my sins, and I receive you Jesus into my life, he will cleanse you and save you for the blood of Jesus Christ, God's son, cleanseth us from all sin, I John 1:7.
1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
But you have to do something about it. If a man decides he wants to get married, the minister says will you take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife? I do. And to her, will you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband? I do. The question is will you take Jesus to be your saviour? That's necessary? That's necessary because John 1:12
1;12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
says as many as received him, to them who received him, gave he power to become the sons and daughters of God. So Romans 10:13 says whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. When you call you say come into my heart, I receive you. You do it and God will save you right now and you'll be ready for his coming. Look at me. Pray it. Lord Jesus, I知 a sinner and I realize that my sin, if it's retained, will take me into judgment. I値l be lost forever, but you Jesus came for me to die for my sin shedding your blood to cleanse me and today I believe it. Now I want to make my commitment. I want to receive you. Lord Jesus, come into my heart, come now and wash me through your shed blood. Save me so I値l be ready when you return. In your name. Amen. And to you Christians who are afar off, I知 pleading with you to come home. Jesus is coming soon. You're not ready. You trusted him at one time but you've drifted away. Like the prodigal son you're living in the midst of sin. But when he came to his senses he said I知 going to leave my sin and go home. Was he received? The father ran out to meet him and threw his arms around him. That's a picture of our heavenly father. He loves you. Come home. We sing the old song, I致e wandered far away from God, now I知 coming home; the paths of sin too long I致e trod, now I知 coming home. Will you do it? Pray it. Lord Jesus, I知 returning. I知 tired of the world. It's pleasures have been meaningless. All the things of this world have left a bitter taste in my mouth and I致e never been happy in this condition. I知 coming home Lord. Open your arms. I知 coming home. Restore me now in Jesus name, amen.

Rexella: It is our prayer that many of you just made one of those two decisions either to accept Jesus as your personal saviour or to return to him if you've drifted far away from the Lord. Will you remember this, the key to understanding the written word is knowing the living word. Open your heart to him.
