Part 2

Rexella: Because Daniel was only 15 years old. So wisdom comes from God. Verse 5, "and the King appointed them a daily provision of the King's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the King. Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego." Now why the change of names? I kind of like those Hebrews names but why the change, Jack?

Dr. Van Impe: Because Nebuchadnezzar had captured them when he took Jerusalem, brought them back to Babylon and because they had Jewish names tied in with their God and now would serve in a Babylonian court it wouldn't please the Babylonians to hear the names of other Gods tied in with their leaders. You say what do you mean by that? Well one of the names of God as we said is Elohim. Watch the "el". You find that in Daniel and Mishael. The other name for God is Yahweh watch the "yah." Hananiah and Azariah. So everyone knew that this was wrong but the thrilling thing is, I love this, though he changed their names he couldn't change their hearts. They loved their God and boldly proclaimed him and prayed three times a day with their windows open. They didn't care who saw it. They would honor their God. You know that's what a real conversion experience does. And when one really has it in the heart he's changed. That's why Romans 6:4

6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
says concerning our day and Christians if it is genuine that we are raised to newness of life. II Corinthians 5:17, if any be in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away behold all things are become new and I John 5:4
5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
states whosoever is born of God overcomes the world.

Rexella: One thing I can't help but notice about these young men, they are all so young and they could maybe go into the palace and be just sort of a smart aleck if they wanted to be 15 years old you know they might act up a little bit Jack, but God gave them wisdom and they had such respect for the King. They really showed honor to him.

Dr. Van Impe: As one studies the book of Daniel Rexella, he finds that this prophet actually served under six different Kings. Never once did he insult them even though they were of other backgrounds other religions always showed great respect and that says something to me today about Christians. If we don't like our President we tear him to shreds, we call him names, we malign him, vilify him, this is wrong. We need to take a lesson from Daniel and the three Hebrew children. I Peter 2:17

2:17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
is a command, honor the King, the President. In Romans 13:1
13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
it says let every soul be subject unto the higher powers for there is no power, no King or President but of God. Because of it, verse 7
13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
render to all honor to whom honor is due, let's obey God and watch what we say about leaders. We need greater respect for those God has placed in office. Remember when we started this in verse one, Adonai is in charge. No one can be put in office unless it is in his plan.

Rexella: Oh right. Remember the King was going to give these young men meat from his table and wine but listen to what Daniel purposed in his heart, verse 8, "but Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the King's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself." Now by eating meat and drinking his wine how could he defile himself Jack?

Dr. Van Impe: Because the Babylonians offered these articles, meat and drink, to their pagan god Marduk and these Jewish young men knew that because it was offered to idols it would break their second commandment if they partook of it. For their commandments said in Exodus 20 verses 4 and 5

20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that's in the earth beneath or that's in the water under the earth and thou shalt not bow thyself to these idols. And for them to eat food offered to idols would be wrong. Now this even carried over into new testament times, however things have changed under grace and Paul said, it doesn't bother me, I could eat meat offered to idols. No big deal. But he says Iíve got to remember there are weaker brothers and sisters and if they saw me eating meat offered to these idols knowing that it came from that temple it might destroy their faith. And all this can be found in I Corinthians 8 when he gets to verse 13
8:13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
he says and this ought to be the Christian attitude, if meat makes my brother to offend, if it bothers him, I will eat no meat while the world stands. And we need to be a different people. We need to be a holy people. The Bible says be ye holy for I am holy, I Peter 1:16
1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
God has not called us unto uncleanness but unto holiness, I Thessalonians 4:7
4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
He saved us and called us with an holy calling, II Timothy 1:9
1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
and because of it we need to take a stand. We need to be very sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. There are things that some of you might be able to do without it bothering your conscience, but it would offend another brother or sister and destroy their faith. Is it worth it? I will eat no meat while the world stands. And then again there are some of you who do things you shouldn't do and you say it doesn't bother me. Why? Because the conscience is like a rubber band. It can be stretched to any proportion. Yes their mind and conscience is defiled, Titus 1:15
1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
So what we need to do is wait upon the Lord when there are some of these doubtful things that arise, get the leading of the Holy Spirit and act upon that. Not our conscience and that's what these young men did.

Rexella: Once again we want to say they were so young when they were leading such pure lives, Jack, so young.

Dr. Van Impe: Oh they were grounded in the word of God and prayer and I don't care who it is when we spend time in the word of God and prayer there is power to stand.

Rexella: All right. Let's go to verse 9, "Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the King, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking..." In other words less attractive... "than the children who are of your sort"... Or age because you know they had already eaten that meat. He was afraid that the King would see the difference. "...then shall ye make me endanger my head to the King." He was going to get in trouble. "then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse..." And that is another word for beans "...to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the King's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the King's meat. Then Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse" or gave them beans. So they had beans and water and they looked better than the ones who had the meat and the wine. Now Jack, why the ten days? Is that significant.

Dr. Van Impe: I admire them honey. Beans for ten days, especially Lima beans.

Rexella: Why the ten days?

Dr. Van Impe: God is a numerical God and he has certain numbers. For instance three has to do with righteousness and that's why there is a trinity, Matthew 28:19.

28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Six is the number of man and that's why the mark of the antichrist is 666, Revelation 13, verses 16 to 18.
13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
Seven is God's number of perfection and that's why he deals with sevens even the seven year peace plan of Daniel 9:27
9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
And ten is the number of testing. So they were tested for ten days and in Revelation 2:10
2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be t tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
speaking to the Christian church, the apostle John through the Holy Spirit says fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer. Behold you shall be tested for ten days. He is talking about ten different periods of persecution which came upon the early church and adds be thou faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life for ten is testing.

Rexella: Ten is testing. It would have been so much easier to eat that meat and drink that wine wouldn't it Jack? And at that young age they had that courage. Iím amazed. Verse 17, "as for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. Now at the end of the days that the King had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. And the King communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, HHananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the King. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the King inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm." So God gave them more wisdom and there again Jack, we have ten again.

Dr. Van Impe: Well he said I wouldn't take ten of my magicians and astrologers for one of these men because they have some supernatural power and as one studies the book of Daniel he will come upon this expression often "the spirits of the Gods." Well it's just one spirit, the blessed Holy Spirit. And when he comes upon one there is power. That's why we are told in Ephesians 5:18

18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
be filled with the Spirit. The literal Greek there is be being filled with the Spirit. A continuous process day by day. And when one is filled with the Spirit he first of all gets this kind of boldness because Acts 1:8
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
says you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. But it does one other thing. It makes a person gracious, kind, tender, compassionate because the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, self-control, Galatians 5:22.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
That was the secret of these Godly young men.

Rexella: All right Jack we have one more verse in chapter one and then we will go on to chapter two. "and Daniel continued even unto the first year of King Cyrus." He had a long life in Babylon. Chapter two and it's a very important chapter. Chapter two and seven depict the most comprehensive descriptions of world history to its conclusion so you will want to listen very carefully. This is an interesting chapter because it talks about Nebuchadnezzar's dream. "And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams, wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him. Then the King commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, for to shew the King his dreams. So they came and stood before the King. And the King said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream. Then spake the Chaldeans to the King in Syriack, o King, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation. The King answered and said to the Chaldeans, the thing is gone from me:" he was very, very sly, listen to this, "if you will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill. But if ye shew the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour: therefore shew me the dream, and the interpretation thereof. They answered again and said, let the King tell his servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation of it. The King answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me. But if ye will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: that ye have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can shew me the interpretation thereof." You know Nebuchadnezzar forgot the dream or maybe he didn't forget the dream, Iím going to ask Jack in just a moment. "the Chaldeans answered before the King, and said, there is not a man upon the earth that can shew the King's matter: therefore there is no King, lord, nor ruler, that asketh such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. And it is a rare thing that the King requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the King, except the Gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh. For this cause the King was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon. And the decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and his fellows to be slain." Now Daniel was going to be included in this massacre also Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Jack, what do you think the King was up to here? Did he forget the dream or didn't he forget that dream? Was he sort of trying to play two sides here?

Dr. Van Impe: I think he was a sly fox Rexella. And I'd like to see folks who do the interpretations of prophecies today standing before Nebuchadnezzar at that point of time, people like Jeanne Dixon. We take these astrological charts in our papers today and if one gets two papers like you and I do, the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press, and compares the two charts they usually contradict one another so if they had been told the dream by the King they could have made up any kind of fanciful interpretation and while the King may have forgotten some of it, he knew the gist Iím sure of what he had dreamt and was just testing them to see if they were genuine because if they could tell him what the dream was all about, he'd know that they had some kind of supernatural power. And by the way, Rexella, there are a total of 24 people who had 34 dreams in the entire Bible, 22 in the Old Testament, 12 in the New. Now when he called these men to interpret his dreams, even they, connected with evil spirits, couldn't do it you see. Evil spirits? Yes, they were conjurers they conjured or called up familiar spirits. They were magicians and they cast spells upon people as well as hypnotic trances. And astrologers. Now that's a little different in the Hebrew there for the Old Testament is written in Hebrew than what we call modern astrologers. Both are connected with demonic powers, but back then astrologers communicated with the dead. And I believe even today when people do that they are calling demonic spirits into a room. So this was against these Hebrew children and the word of God because Leviticus 19:31

19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.
says regard not them that have familiar spirits and Leviticus 20, verse 6
20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
says, the soul that turneth after familiar spirits and after wizards to go a whoring after them, I, Yahweh God, will cut them off from among their people. God hates this sin. We see so much of it in many of the movements today including the new age movement which is controlled by these spirits, I Timothy 4:1.
4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
But these men were of God. And as I said earlier, I repeat, constantly it speaks about the Gods of the spirits being upon them and this was the Holy Spirit and that's where the real power is. So that's what it was all about.

Rexella: All right, we will continue on, verse 14, "then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the King's guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon: he answered and said to Arioch the King's captain, why is the decree so hasty from the King? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel. Then Daniel went in, and desired of the King that he would give him time, and that he would shew the King his interpretation." Daniel was confident because he knew God would show him. He asked for 24 hours there by the way. "Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Misahel, and Azariah, his companions: that they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven." Now I imagine when Daniel went to see his friends they had a pretty strong prayer meeting don't you think Jack?

Dr. Van Impe: Well they were watching everyone else being slaughtered and they said we're next. I mean if that gives a man foxhole religion because he is facing death, then these fellows would really be on their knees but I don't think they were on their knees for that reason. This was the habit of devout Jews. David the psalmist said in chapter 55, verse 17, evening, and at morning and at noon will I pray and cry aloud and he shall hear my voice. Daniel and the three Hebrew children followed in that pattern. It was the custom of Jews no matter where they were scattered globally. Now he went home and said fellas there is only one answer to our dilemma and that's prayer. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much, James 5:16.

5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
And I need you fellas, for where two or three are gathered together in my name I am in the midst, Matthew 18:20.
18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Let's pray fellas. And that's what we need today. Oh we have so many people going this way and that way and we pull one against the other, one protesting this, one protesting that and our problem is the church of Jesus Christ does not move ahead on it's feet but on it's knees so II Chronicles 7:14
7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
is a promise. "If my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then will I,[Yahweh God], hear from heaven." And that's what he did as we are going to see.

Rexella: All right Jack. Before I go on I just want to take the last three words there in verse 19, "the God of heaven." Why that term?

Dr. Van Impe: Because Nebuchadnezzar worshipped Marduk and the stars of heaven and so Daniel said Iíve got a greater God than that, the one who created heavens wherein dwell the stars and God did create those stars, Genesis 1:14.

1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Colossians 1:16
1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
says for by Christ, for he was there from the beginning with Yahweh the Father, were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth. In heaven and earth? Yes, so he is the God of heaven who created the heavens, for there are three heavens, II Corinthians 12:2
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
and this was his title to differentiate him from just the mere little Gods of Babylonianism and that's why we today pray, Matthew 6:9
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
our Father who art in heaven, the God of heaven, Yahweh.

Rexella: Beautiful. Verse 20, "Daniel answered and said, blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: and he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth Kings, and setteth up Kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: he revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth in him. I thank God, and praise thee, o thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the King's matter." Oh what a wonderful thing this is Jack. God is truly in control isn't he like Daniel said? He puts down Kings, he raises Kings, he puts people out of the way, He brings them back. He is in control.

Dr. Van Impe: Nothing can happen unless God makes it happen. And that's that name again, Adonai, the sovereign God, the one who does what he wants to do and we get so overwhelmed and discouraged when things don't go our way. Why did this happen? God is in control. I want to emphasize it repeatedly. Because known unto God are all his works from the beginning, Acts 15:18

18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
So nothing ever takes him off guard.

Rexella: "Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the King had ordained to destroy the wise men of Babylon: He went and said thus unto him; destroy not the wise men of Babylon: Bring me in before the King, and I will shew unto the King the interpretation. Then arioch brought in Daniel before the King in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the King the interpretation. The King answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof? Daniel answered in the presence of the King, and said, the secret which the King hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the King: but there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the King Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days." Oh this is exciting. Now Jack what did he mean by "the latter days" there?

Dr. Van Impe: Well we take it in context. The latter days, and he is describing or about to describe this image that takes us right to the ten toes, the final empire, the revived roman empire which came into full power January 1, 1993, and says it will be here for the latter days and in context, Daniel 11:40, Daniel 12:4,

11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

is the time of the end. And that's why when the angel appeared to Daniel in chapter 10 verse 14
14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
after battling demonic hosts in the heavenlies for 21 days said Iím come to tell you what shall befall your people the Jews, same expression, in the latter days. And you know recently I did something. I preached a sermon using all the terminology of the word of God concerning latter days, latter years, last days, end of time, end of the age, time of the end and discovered that every single piece of information connected with this terminology is now in existence and we are living in the latter times and if you won't believe that you will in a few moments because the image has come to life in our day.

Rexella: All right. The last part of verse 28, "thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these; as for thee, o King, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass. But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living,..." Just listen to how this young man is so humble before this King. He gives God all the glory. "...but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the King, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart. Thou, o King, sawest, and behold a great image. The great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth. This is the dream. So Daniel was able to tell the King his dream. He didn't have to guess, he knew what the dream was. Now Jack, there are so many things upon my mind right now, but I do have a very pertinent question I believe here. Why the deterioration of the metals like that in the King's dream?

Dr. Van Impe: Well first of all Rexella, I imagine the King was startled, shocked, dumbfounded. I can't believe this. You're a genius. You told me what my dream was and all these conjurers, magicians and astrologers who claimed to have such powers couldn't do a thing. I can't believe you Daniel. Uh-uh. Iíve got a great God. And as Iíve already told you in chapter two verse 28

28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;
there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets and maketh known to King Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. It's here. And so this is God behind all of this. The reason for the deterioration in the metals is because as history marches on men would become more and more corrupt. One needs to study Romans chapter 1, beginning with verses 21 through 32
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
to see this picture. We talk about the evolutionary hypothesis where men climb the ladder. Bunk. They keep going back and back and evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived, II Timothy 3:13
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
and so that's what these metals indicate. Again the empires were gold, Babylon; silver, Medes and Persians; brass, Greece; two legs of iron, Rome; and ten toes of iron mixed with clay. Deterioration. The specific gravity of gold is 19; of silver, 11; of brass, 8.5; of cast iron, 7.8 and of iron mixed with clay, 1.93. Value, we started at 19 and worked down to 1.93. A 1000 percent less. And the world has deteriorated and it is going to get worse and worse right until the moment that stone breaks the feet of the image and that stone is Jesus Christ as we are going to prove and he becomes a mountain and fills the whole earth. A mountain speaks of Kingdoms and Christ is coming to set up his Kingdom in verse 44
44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
which shall never be destroyed and it will be global. And it's coming soon.

Rexella: The second part of verse 36, "This is the dream; he said, and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the King. Verse 37, thou, o King, art a King of Kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a Kingdom, power, and strength, and glory." There again, you know Jack he was not flattering the King, but he was really reverencing that man wasn't he.

Dr. Van Impe: Yes. If we could only learn the lesson. Let God take care of things. We don't have to straighten up this world we've got a God, Adonai, who's in charge.

Rexella: Honor the King. "and wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold. And after thee shall arise another Kingdom inferior to thee, and another third Kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth Kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the Kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay." And that word "miry" means common clay. "and as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the Kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay." Now Jack, how does this depict world history to its conclusion? You know you said that this would do this. How does that work out?
